Elements of Change Project

For this project, we learned about global issues that exist around the world. We connected those things to history and science, and figured out a way to be part of making a change. We researched where our products come from and the impact that our "stuff" has on people and the environment. We did a case study on "conflict minerals" that are found in our electronics. These "conflict minerals" have impacted parts of the world such as China and the Congo. From what we learned, we created a public awareness campaign on our campus. We presented in classrooms to spread awareness including making activities and videos, and recycling receptacles to make a school wide cell phone recycling campaign
