Political Song/Poem With Attitude
Can we cease the unjust actions from police?
Countless innocent people dead with no justice.
And is there even enough dedication on the streets for people to impede the amount of deceased?
Ferguson, a small town finally standing up to the ruckus.
Planning discussions to indict the police behind the injustice.
Hoping for success, none the less to put an end to the deaths.
To halt the abuse of power.
To stop situations like the one in 2008 involving Warren,
and to put an end to this killing spree so people can be at ease.
How can police be defending the people when they are beating them unconscious?
The roles switch and the police become monstrous.
Police beat you, bash you, kick you, slap you.
Use extreme amount of force and fall into a deja vu with no remorse.
Its happened before and will continue to until enforce
because of the false accusations coming from some of the police force.
Its happened to John Crawford for walking in Walmart holding a pellet gun that he picked up in that same store.
Its happened to Levar Jones for reaching into his car to get his license because police asked for it before.
Its happened to Michael Brown for simply walking in a neighborhood street.
And we can’t ignore this anymore.
Most officers think they can do whatever they want whenever they wish,
because they have formed a stereotypical thought that the way you dress and the way you look define if you are up to mischief.
And when you try to set things straight no they don’t listen,
using their power to fight you and take you to prison.
Cops can cheat and lie and thats what I despise.
The way they beat 5 month pregnant Sandra Amezquita on the belly multiple times,
pushing her to the ground for intervening in her son’s arrest, making it ok in their eyes.
Thinking its allowable to beat her until she cries.
And when news of police brutality hit the headlines to share,
police don't get convicted, no, its very rare.
And yes, this brutality is in other developed nations as well.
Like in 2014, when police walked through Brazils streets to clean.
People violently beaten and homes destroyed, causing a big scene that was unforeseen.
Officers are involved in too many innocent killings, too many innocent beatings.
We need to listen to the protesters feelings.
They are deranged and its time to make a change
This needs to stop this needs to end.
Officers need to be conscious and face consequence.
Description: Each student in class made a political song or poem with attitude. We have been focusing a lot on police brutality and the shooting involving Michael Brown. We needed to decide on a topic that our poem or song was going to be focusing on. I specifically focused on police brutality and gave evidence behing my reasoning on the issue.
